Manually Add Places to Your Dashboard

Created by ITI Digital Support Digital, Modified on Tue, 29 Jul at 1:51 PM by Larissa Pohl

While most listings are pulled automatically from Google, the DXP Dashboard also allows you to manually add a new place when needed.  The Smart Business Listings module gives you full control over your content, making it easy to keep listings up to date.

✅ Access via a clear “+ Create Places” button
✅ Choose between Google search or full manual entry
✅ Pop-up form keeps you in the dashboard—no new tabs
✅ Integrated with
Manual and Website Submitted
 source filters

What's Inside?

Step-by-Step: Add a Manual Place

Step 1: Log in to your DXP Dashboard

Navigate to: Events Calendar → Manage Listings

Step 2: Click the + Create Places button

Located in the lower-right corner of the screen

Step 3: Choose how you'd like to add a place:

  • Add Google Place by Name – Search for an existing business via Google
  • Create a Place Manually – Open a blank form and enter the business details manually

Step 4: Fill out the pop-up form

Include the place name, category, location, and any other key information
Select whether the listing should be saved as
Approved or Unapproved

Step 5 (Optional): Filter manually created places

Use the Source filter dropdown at the top of the listings
Select
Manual to view only places added by your team

Important Notes

✅ Manually created listings appear alongside Google and Website Submitted entries
✅ Use the
Source filter to distinguish between entry types
✅ You can update, unapprove, or remove listings anytime from the
Manage Listings view
