Low resolution, pixelated, or 'strange' looking images

When Events are pulled from Google, the API is only capable of pulling the Google indexed image which is only thumbnail resolution. To improve the quality of these very low-resolution images, the DXP Dashboard utilizes AI to enhance and resize the images loaded.

In most cases the AI enhanced images are acceptable, and almost always better than the un-enhanced image pulled from Google. In some situations though these images end up looking unusual, with blurred shapes or odd looking people, and text can be difficult to read.

Replacing AI enhanced images:

If an image pulled from Google and AI enhanced is unusable, you may always replace it manually with a different image or in most cases, by finding the original higher resolution image.

Let's look at this example, a concert featuring the Swinging Medallions:

1) Click on the Event image to view the original event listing and ticket sales. This example links to bandsintown.com.

2) Right mouse click on the image, then click 'Copy Image Address.'

3) Head back to the DXP Dashboard and click the 'Edit' icon on the event.

4) Scroll to the bottom of the edit window, and paste the copied image address to the field that says 'Image Link.' Click the checkbox acknowledging image rights and then click Save.

In this example, the original image is quite low resolution to begin with (only 300x300). In most cases you will be able to find a higher quality copy of the pulled image to replace the AI enhanced version. Here is the un-enhanced original image from the pulled event listing:
