Your organization can utilize custom categories to organize events into groups with the ITI Digital DXP Dashboard. Visitors to your website can then sort and view events according to these categories. Examples could include Outdoor Dining, Live Music, Seasonal Activities, or any number of other categories unique to your region or organization.
Once categorized, these groups can be embedded to specific landing pages on your website where only the filtered results will be shown in the Custom Category Widget. Here is an example: a visitor to your website may click on a link titled 'Outdoor Adventures' and when taken to that page, the ITI module embedded there will only display activities like 'Fall Festival, Kayaking, Hiking, or Camping.' Categorizing Events in this manner drives visitor interaction on your website and follows SEO best practices.
Creating Category Tab & Adding Content
One logged in on your dashboard,
- Go to Content Parameter on the sidebar menu, then Custom Categories.
- Turn On the Event Categories feature. If you already have other categories created in the past, you can skip to the next step.
- Enter the new category, for example, Take-out/Delivery, Family Events, Main Street Events, etc.
- Go back to your Approved Events list, and click a group of event you want to put on your custom events categories
- Click on Total, Selected on the upper right corner, then select Add to Selected Category. The new category will appear as an option in the drop-down list.
Embedding Your Custom Category Widget

- Go to the Custom Categories area on the dashboard
- Copy the URL Code
