Users now have the capability to write a URL that links to a specific date range on the Events Calendar embedded on your website. This is a super handy tool if you send out flyers, newsletters or email announcements for visitors planning a stay in a certain time frame.
Benefits:
If new events are added, existing events are updated or changed, or events are cancelled, these changes will be reflected on your website, when a printed or exported list of events is static and cannot be updated after it is sent to visitors. This URL can provide up to date event information to your visitors, relevant to their travel dates.
Additionally, these date range specific URLs have been added as clickable links to exported PDF documents. Every time you export a PDF of a specific date range of events, this link will be displayed at the bottom.
Build a URL to a specific date range:
The format/formula for the date range URL is as follows:
https://yourwebsitedomainhere.com/events?start=yyyy-mm-dd&end=yyyy-mm-dd
Example: if I want to show events for May 15th to May 20th, 2024, take the URL of your website's Event Calendar.
Replace: /events/ with /events?start=yyyy-mm-dd&end=yyyy-mm-dd
The completed URL for May 15th to May 20th is:
https://savannahvirtualvisitorcenter.com/events?start=2024-05-15&end=2024-05-20
