We’re pleased to introduce the latest evolution of the Itinerary Library module: Version 3.0! This innovative update transforms the user experience, elevating the promotion of key tourism assets through a modern, adaptable design and advanced features. It simplifies itinerary creation and management while enhancing your ability to showcase your destination’s unique offerings. 


With features such as drag-and-drop itinerary building and real-time content syncing, this module gives visitors an unforgettable travel planning experience.

A New Visual Itinerary Management Experience

  • Discover a reimagined, user-friendly interface designed to simplify your itinerary library management. This refined process enables you to craft and modify itineraries that showcase your destination’s key tourism assets.
  • Highlight attractions, create visually stunning layouts, and organize travel itineraries more efficiently than ever. The new design empowers you to make updates quickly and intuitively, saving time while enhancing visitor engagement.


Enhanced Customization Options

  • Tailor itineraries with new, easy-to-use design features to reflect your destination’s unique brand and offerings.
  • Customize colors, backgrounds, text, and icons to match your brand identity.


Interactive Map Edit View

  • Add or remove Points of Interest (POIs) directly on the Map Edit View, simplifying real-time itinerary adjustments.


Multiple Itinerary Page Layouts

  • Choose from various page layouts, including Google’s innovative 3D Storytelling format. These layouts provide an engaging way to showcase your destination's unique attractions, captivating visitors and encouraging deeper exploration.


Pre- and Post-Attraction Text Options

  • Add customized text before or after attractions to provide additional context or engagement.
  • Utilize manual input or leverage AI-powered suggestions to enhance your content.


Virtual Tour Feature

  • Engage website users with the new Virtual Tour, allowing them to explore attractions interactively and boosting their overall experience.


What's Next


The new Itinerary Module updates will automatically roll out for all customers and go live to the public by February 15. On this date, your active itineraries and library embeds will update your website without manual effort or code updates.

While no immediate action is necessary, this is the perfect opportunity to:

  • Review your existing itineraries to ensure they’re up-to-date and make adjustments using the new features. Any new itineraries created using the new dashboard interface will still appear on your website. 
  • You can experiment with customization options, including layouts and AI-powered enhancements, to better engage your visitors.

Access the New Itinerary Builder:


Open the Client Dashboard, then select Content Management → Itinerary Builder → V3 → Open New Itinerary Builder.



 You will then be viewing the new Itinerary Builder V3 editing dashboard:



Itinerary Library View

 

The Itinerary Library View allows you to manage and customize your itineraries efficiently. Whether you're updating visuals, editing content, or organizing your itineraries, this section provides the tools you need for a seamless experience.


Edits you can make: click on the edit (pencil and paper) icon to make changes

Detail #1. Update the background image

Detail #2. Update the background color

Details #3-6. Adjust the writing and the color of any text displayed




You will also be able to create new itineraries or unpublish/publish existing ones.

To create new itineraries, click on the “Create A New Itinerary” button (detail #9) and input the info requested: Title, Description, Photos, Itinerary Info

Every new itinerary appears as Inactive (Unpublished) - this means it is not visible in the widget, but are visible only on the editing page of Itineraries V3.

 

Detail #7: “Copy link” button - gives you 2 types of links: one link for sharing the itinerary, and one link for embedding the itinerary. Note– Only the published itineraries can generate links.

Detail #8: Delete permanently button helps you remove an itinerary, permanently. Note– this process is irreversible.

 

Single Itinerary View

 

The Single Itinerary View offers a detailed interface to customize and manage individual itineraries. This section provides advanced tools for fine-tuning the content, design, and functionality of your itineraries to create an engaging experience for users.




Edits you can make: 


Add attractions to the itinerary list, directly on the Map Edit View by using the search bar, detail #1:

  • Start typing the name of the place you want in the search bar.
  • The places that are already added will have an ‘Added’ text, and the places that are not added to the itinerary list will have ‘+' sign and can be added on the list by clicking on the '+’ button.




Update Itinerary detail #2: Update the title, description, photos, itinerary info, status (published or unpublished) and set the default travel mode (driving/bicycling/walking).





Theme mode detail #3: choose between dark mode or light mode; the selection can be applied to one itinerary or to all itineraries in bulk.



Itinerary details view style detail #4: choose between map or storytelling view; the selection can be applied to one itinerary or to all itineraries in bulk.


Note– in the second phase of this release, the 3D map view will be available (Q1 2025)

Descriptions, detail #5: each attraction can have a main description, a pre description and a post description - these can be added manually, or can be AI-generated.



  • To add the pre-, post- and main description manually, use the fields displayed when the ‘Edit attraction’ button is clicked:


  • To add the pre-, post- and main description using AI power, use the ‘AI content generation’ button, then select the type of description you want to generate and for which of the places and click on Generate:



  • After the generation is completed, a new window will display all the places from the list along with all their pre-, post- and main description. The texts that were just generated are marked as so. From here, you have the opportunity to edit any text, including the just generated ones by using the edit buttons, and/or to save it:


Note: The main description of a place is the one that appears on the Places page. Please understand that editing the main description in the Suggested Itineraries view will also change the description from the Places page!


How to publish/unpublish itineraries:

Open the itinerary and click on Update Itinerary (detail #2) and change the status: 

  • Published = active itineraries visible in the widget
  • Unpublished = inactive itineraries not visible in the widget
