This is more than a new feature; it’s a new opportunity for visitor engagement. Now available as a Premium Feature, the Audio Tour functionality enriches itineraries and individual business listings with audio content directly available on your website and app.
Easily add immersive narration to individual business listings or before/after itinerary stops. Visitors can listen to audio tours or storytelling directly from your website’s interactive itineraries, on desktop or mobile. This feature also enhances accessibility for users who prefer or rely on audio content. Use it to create walking tours, highlight local voices, or simply offer an engaging, alternative way to experience your itinerary.

✅ Recommendation: Working with Audio Tours in 3D Map Views
Step-by-step: How to Host Audio Files and Get a Direct Link
To use the Audio Tour feature, you'll need a direct link to your audio file (a URL ending in .mp3, .wav, or .ogg). Platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or SoundCloud won’t work—Amazon S3 is our recommended solution.
Step 1: Log in to Amazon S3 (AWS Cloud Storage)
Go to Amazon S3 – AWS Cloud Storage
Log in or create a free AWS account
Step 2: Open the S3 Console
Inside the AWS console, navigate to S3. You can either create a new bucket or use an existing one to store your audio file.
Step 3: Customize Visuals
Upload your file in one of the supported formats: .mp3, .wav, or .ogg.
Step 4: Make the File Public
Select the file > Click Actions > Choose Make Public
Step 5: Copy the Object URL
Once public, copy the Object URL provided. It should look something like this:
https://your-bucket-name.s3.amazonaws.com/your-file.mp3
Step 6: Add the Link to Your Dashboard
Follow the instructions below to add the direct audio link to your business listing or itinerary stop in the dashboard.
Important Notes
- The URL must be publicly accessible and end in .mp3, .wav, or .ogg
- Google Drive, Dropbox, and SoundCloud do not provide valid links for this feature
Step-by-step: Add Audio to a Single Business Listing/Place
Step 1: Log in to the Dashboard and go to Approved Places
Click “Edit” on the place you want to include an audio file.
Step 2: Scroll to the Audio Tour toggle and enable it
You’ll see fields for the audio link and optional description.
Step 3: Paste your audio URL (MP3, WAV, or OGG) and save
This audio will now appear on the Place’s frontend page.
Step-by-step: Add Audio to an Itinerary Stop
Step 1: Log in to your DXP Dashboard, then navigate to:
Content Management → Itinerary Builder → V3 → Open New Itinerary Builder
You’ll land on the updated editing dashboard
Step 2: Select the Itinerary You Want to Edit
Once inside the Builder, scroll to view your list of existing itineraries—this is your Itinerary Library View, where you can select, edit, and organize itineraries. Choose the one you’d like to add audio to, or start fresh by creating a new itinerary.
Step 3: Open any itinerary and click "Edit Attraction" on a stop
You’ll enter the attraction settings panel.
Step 4: Click “Audio Tour Settings” and enable the toggle
Add your title, description, and audio file URL.
Step 5: Choose where the audio appears
After uploading your audio file, select where the Audio Tour link should display within the attraction’s content. You have four placement options:
- Before pre-description
- After pre-description
- Before post-description
- After post-description
Once selected, the Audio link will automatically move to the chosen position. To preview the update, simply close the Edit Attraction window.
✅ Recommendation: Working with Audio Tours in 3D Map Views
If you’re using the 3D map view, keep in mind:
- You cannot add or reposition Audio Tours directly.
- Any Audio Tour will appear at the bottom of the attraction card by default.
To add or customize Audio Tours:
- Switch to the 2D map view or Storytelling view.
- Once added, the Audio Tours will remain visible when you return to the 3D view.
Important Notes
- Host your audio files externally—no upload needed within the platform.
- Placement options are available for 2D and Storytelling views
- In 3D view, audio appears but can’t be repositioned
