The AI Travel Planner (formerly known as the AI Travel Buddy) is ITI Digital's AI powered chat assistant. Providing website visitors with personalized recommendations, answering questions, and building itineraries around their interests, the AI Travel Planner represents your organization 24/7, transforming how you interact with travelers online. Below is an overview of the AI Travel Planner and how it works:


General Information

1. What is the AI Travel Planner?

  • The AI Travel Planner is a chatbot leveraging OpenAI’s technology to offer personalized travel recommendations and assistance, enhancing your website users' overall travel planning experience.

2. How does the AI Travel Planner work?

  • The AI Travel Planner uses OpenAI's cutting-edge AI technology to provide tailored travel information. It correlates answers based on your approved list of places and events, ensuring relevant and accurate recommendations.

3. Is AI Travel Planner secure? What about the user data?

  • The AI Travel Planner is hosted on a secure and encrypted server, using cybersecurity best practices we have applied to our other DXP Modules. When the user consents, the data collected in the AI Travel Planner conversations is limited to the user's email address and the questions/answers in each browser session. 


Customization and Settings

4. Can I customize the AI Travel Planner's knowledge base?

  • Yes, you can customize the knowledge base through the dashboard's AI Settings tab, where you can add links and files to support Travel Planner's general knowledge.

5. How does the AI Travel Planner prioritize information?

  • The AI prioritizes information from your approved list of places and events, ensuring the recommendations align with your brand's needs and preferences. Secondly, it searches the web for relevant answers as needed. 

6. Can the Travel Planner be prompted with specific answers to specific questions?

  • The AI searches the knowledgebase of websites and files, as well as the approved list of Events and/or Places in your ITI dashboard to generate appropriate responses. The Travel Planner cannot be directed to answer a certain way if a visitor asks a specific question but this is not needed when the Travel Planner knowledgebase is complete with relevant information. The ITI Support team will guide and assist you with the setup and optimization of these settings.

Content and Moderation

7. Does the AI Travel Planner filter inappropriate content?

  • Yes, the AI Travel Planner automatically blocks profanity, racism, and political views to maintain a safe and welcoming user environment.

8. Does the AI Travel Planner filter answers by location?

  • Yes, the AI Travel Planner would include specific destination-geo parameters to match your promotional area. For example, if the AI Travel Planner is programmed to provide information on Savannah, Georgia, and the user asks for recommendations in Atlanta, Georgia, a redirecting answer will be given such as "I cannot provide recommendations in the Atlanta, Georgia area, but I am happy to give you suggestions in Savannah, GA. How can I assist you?" 


Subscription and Access

9. Is there a subscription fee for the AI Travel Planner?

  • Yes, an annual subscription fee and a one-time setup fee are required. The AI Travel Planner module is available to current ITI Digital subscribers of Business Listings - Google Places, Unlimited Itineraries & Trip Planner modules.

10. How do I subscribe to the AI Travel Planner?

  • If you are already an ITI Digital DXP subscriber, the AI Travel Planner subscription is immediately available for signup. If not, please contact our sales team to learn more about our product options.

13. How do I integrate the AI Travel Planner into my website?

  • The AI Travel Planner is seamlessly published to your existing DXP modules, such as Events and Places, and it can also be placed on any page of your website with a turnkey widget code. Detailed integration instructions are provided during the AI Travel Planner's onboarding and setup phase. Additionally, our support team is available to assist with the integration process.

14. Is the AI Travel Planner compatible with all websites?

  • The AI TravelBuddy is designed to be compatible with various website platforms, such as WordPress, WIx, Squarespace, Craft, CivicPlus, and custom development websites. If you encounter any compatibility issues, our support team can assist you in resolving them.

Visitor Data and Reporting

15. What Visitor data is collected by the Travel Planner?

  • The AI Travel Plannersaves the following information:
    • Number of users per month.
    • Users email addresses: only if user signs in and agrees to the Terms of Service (not required to use the Travel Planner).
    • Chat history of users who sign in and agrees to the Terms of Service.
