Set a Default Sorting Order for Smart Business Listings

Created by Grace Anne de Guzman, Modified on Tue, 29 Jul at 1:34 PM by Larissa Pohl

Dashboard V3 now gives you full control over how your business listings are sorted—both in your internal dashboard and on your public-facing website widget. You can choose whether listings display by rating, alphabetically, or in a randomized order to help maintain fairness and flexibility.

✅ Sorting preference applies to both dashboard view and website widget
✅ Options include: RatingAlphabetical (A–Z / Z–A), or Random Order
✅ Helps ensure consistent, unbiased presentation of business listings

What's Inside?

Step-by-Step: Set a Default Sorting Order

Step 1: Log in to your DXP Dashboard

Navigate to: Smart Business Listings → Content Parameters

Step 2: Navigate to the Website Listing Styles section

Use the arrow icon at the top of the page to switch to the Website Listing Styles tab

Step 3: Choose your sorting method

In the Listing Display Order dropdown, choose one of the following:

  • Rating – Sorted by Google Rating
  • Alphabetical Order – A–Z or Z–A
  • Random Order – Listings are shuffled each time the page loads

Step 4: Click Save to apply your changes

Your selected order will be reflected immediately in both the dashboard and the website widget

Optional: Manual Prioritization Tools

If you'd like to manually feature certain businesses at the top of the list, you can also:

  • Pin Listings to the Top
  • Mark Listings as Featured

These will override the default sorting where applicable.
